Health Program Coordinator: Roberto Pocop
Roberto graduated from high school with a certificate in certificate in Bookkeeping/Computer Science in 2010. Since then Roberto has gained a variety of work experience including working as a gardener, in customer service and with local NGO, Mayan Families as well as with the International organization Manna Project International. Roberto first worked contractually with FTM in 2010 where he was able to utilize his skills and further develop an interest in learning more about medicinal plants and plant products. Roberto started working with Maya Traditions in February 2012 to manage our garden and to help educate the community about the medicinal plants. His duties include gardening, production and sales of medicinal products, and hosting educational tours and workshops. Roberto is becoming a very competent leader in traditional health practices and his language skills, Kakchiquel, Spanish and English enable him to reach a diverse audience to help promote the use of traditional Maya practices and medicinal plants.
