Experience Maya Traditions on a 2-day immersive trip around Quetzaltenango (Xela)

Immersive Program with the artisans:

    DAY 1:

  • Meet with the women from the community of Nahualá for lunch
  • Liso and Brocade backstrap weaving demonstrations
  • Embroidery demonstration
  • Hike in the surrounding Highlands to Maya Ceremony Sites and get a personalized Maya Ceremony
  • Stay overnight with a homestay family from Maya Traditions’artisan partners
    DAY 2:

  • Meet with the women from the community of Chirijox
  • Liso and Brocade backstrap weaving workshop
  • Embroidery workshop
  • End with a typical lunch with the artisans

Time: 2 days from 12 m to 2 pm (flexible)
Minimum donation per person: US$ 135 from 2 to 4 participants / US$ 120 from 5 to 10 participants / US$ 105 from 11 to 20 participants

 

The artisans are paid a fair wage for their time and involvement.
Benefits support our social community programs.

All meals are included (vegetarian and vegan meals available upon request).
