Hola, my name is Larissa and I am a fashion designer from Brazil. I first heard about Maya Traditions on the Ethical Fashion Forum website and I was very impressed with their work, values, brand and products. I believe that fashion should be an industry that values people, the environment, creativity, local identity, international market and techniques of a culture.

Since I have started my studies in fashion, I have been engaged with social design, corporate social responsibility, fashion ecologies, ethics and sustainability in the production process. Also cultural and international dialogues were two important passions in my personal and professional development.

So I came to Guatemala to learn about the natural dye process with Maya Traditions and the local artisans. My goal is to investigate new colors and consistent methods and to support the development of new products.

Lake Atitlan is just an amazing and special place to be, the nature is so unique and the people are very friendly. I will be here for 3 months and I am very happy and grateful for this amazing opportunity!
Thank you very much, saludos!
Larissa.
